New Cavendish Street
Project Scope

Structural Roof Glazing

Frameless Structural Canopy

  • Client:
    Leyton
  • Address:
    New Cavendish Street, LONDON
Key Challenges
  • Complex and logistically difficult installation methodology
  • Totally bespoke glass and steel design – no proprietary products
  • Extremely challenging programme dates
  • Double glazed solar control panels
  • Units structurally bonded to stainless steel frame using 'Dow Corning' 993 structural two part silicone
  • The Brief
Working with the architect at planning stage, Bespoke Glass Structures submitted a pc sum to the client for the required works. We were appointed to the project and worked with the architect to come up with some provisional designs.
  • Our Approach
Bespoke Glass Structures attended a site meeting to undertake a 3D survey. Then proceeding to do the drawings in 3D to ensure that the design would work. Having provided full structural calculations, we proceeded to manufacture.

Having craned the glass onto the roof area; our fully trained NVQ level 2 in structural glazing operatives had to manually manoeuvre the units into position.
They then proceeded to structurally bond the units to the stainless-steel frame using 'Dow Corning' 993 structural two-part silicone.

Having an extremely tight deadline our amazing team had this installed in one weekend in order for the main contactor to remove the scaffolding and temporary roofing.
  • The Result
Now fully complete, the project looks highly impressive and have made the clients & Architects vision a reality.

The use of the glazing allows natural light to flood the building enhancing productivity within the offices. With the right preparation, planning and design; we were able to achieve perfection.
