Structural Steel Work

  • Client:
    Microsoft
  • Architect:
    Gensler
  • Contractor:
    Overbury
  • Address:
    Microsoft – Oxford Street
Key Challenges
  • Complex and logistically difficult installation methodology including manoeuvring curved panels by hand.
  • Totally bespoke glass and steel design – no proprietary products
  • Extremely challenging programme dates
  • Manufacturing Toughened glass bends in 3 days
  • The Brief
Bespoke Glass Structures had been advising on the scheme for some months, helping guide and develop the detail to where we were appointed to the project.
  • Our Approach
Bespoke Glass Structures attended site with our 3D surveying kit to survey our prepared steel to provide our suppliers with CAD drawings to manufacture the glass to.

Having all of the glass made within 3 days our logistics team organised delivery to site, enabling us transport the glass through congested areas of Oxford Street
The use of pant to install the glass was not an option due to the curves in the glass and the position. Our fully trained glazing team had a real task at hand having to manually handle the glass through the staircase and scaffolding to install.
  • The Result
Now fully complete, the project looks highly impressive and have made the clients and architects vision a reality.
