Key Challenges
  • Acquiring planning permission from local authorities
  • Conservation officers

  • The Brief
Minimal interference and an un-interrupted view of the original building.
  • Our Approach
Working with the architect on the planning stage, Bespoke Glass Structures submitted a pc sum to the client for the required works. We were then appointed to the project. We worked with the architect on the provisional design, providing CGIs to see how the glass extension would look with the original building.

Once appointed the project, we attended site to conduct a 3D survey ensuring everything was level and square prior production of the glass, metal and aluminium pressings.

The transparent nature of the glass means this type of extension barely interrupts the view of the original building. Framework can be kept to a minimum and if the building is particularly important, low iron glass can be specified removing green/blue tint from the glass increasing the transparency.
  • The Result
Now fully complete, the project looks highly impressive and have made the clients and architects vision a reality.

The use of the glazing allows natural light to flood the building enhancing productivity within the offices. With the right preparation, planning and design; we were able to achieve perfection.
