Key Challenges
  • Working with the client & Architect to help achieve planning
  • Totally bespoke structural glass rooflight glazing.
  • Oversized panels giving complex installation methodology
  • Minimal interference with the original building Minimal interference with the original building
  • Uninterrupted view of the original building
  • The Brief
Working with the architect on the planning stage, Bespoke Glass Structures submitted a pc sum to the client for the works required. We were then appointed to the project and worked with the architect to produce provisional designs to assist with conservation and planning authorities at the pre application stage.
  • Our Approach
From having the application accepted we attend a site meeting/survey following sign off all design work to get an understanding of what was required and enable us to liaise with the builders on site what we required them to prepare for our installation.

Using our 3D surveying machine, we were able to get a perfectly accurate measurement of the old building to find out exactly where it wasn't square and then rake the glass to get a perfect fit.
Arriving on site with our spider crane we installed all the glass panels weighing up to 400KG to produce an uninterrupted view of the original building.
  • The Result
Now fully complete, the project looks highly impressive and has made the clients vision a reality.

The frameless oriel window not only compliments the minimalist design of the property it injects that wow factor, creating an all year-round living space, it creates a relaxing place to sit and enjoy a book in any weather.
The frameless side return glazing allows natural light to flood the building enhancing the family's living experience. With the right preparation, planning and design; we were able to achieve perfection.
